What is Sleep Apnea?

Apnea (greek) = to stop breathing. (the British spell it Apneoa)

While asleep, people with Sleep Apnea actually stop breathing for 10-20 seconds, dozens and sometimes up to hundreds of times per night.

This element of the CPAP appliance has frequently been advanced as time passes to make the device more efficient in saving sleep apnea sufferers from their ailment. The CPAP device essentially keeps the individual’s airways unblocked which makes inhalation uninterrupted. Stop Snoring Aids and Devices

Here is a list of stop snoring aids and devices for reference:

1. CPAP or Continuous Positive Airway Pressure Appliances – a special mask used when sleeping that will keep a person’s throat from collapsing. Most physicians prefer this method when treating obstructive sleep apnea.

2. Adjustable Beds – sleeping in a 30-degree elevation then it actually relieves any pressure that could be in the diaphragm, hence the airway is kept open. Also if you elevate your head, then your tongue will not collapse against the uvula.
